Before you decide for Split taxi transfer, take a minute of your time to find out all alternatives to get to the desired destination.

I will be glad to help you find the best Split taxi prices, how to keep away from traps and how to save both, time and money.

If you need a taxi in Split, don’t expect to find any colored cabs, like yellow cabs in New York City or London’s famous black cabs.

Taxis have no particular color and you will recognized them by the yellow taxi sign (with the number) on top of the car. Most of them have a name of the the city or municipality the taxi belongs to (such as Split, Kastela, Trogir and so on).

As you can see on the price tab image above, taxi rides starts at 18 Kuna, with 8kn for each additional kilometer. One hour wait is 50 kn, and additional luggage fees may be payable. Please note all prices are just informative and may not be accurate for every month of the year or season!

They are not moving around the town like in big cities, but you will find them at designated taxi position. All cabs are equipped with a meter, which shows the fare payable at the end of the ride, and a yellow “TAXI” light.

If you don’t see the Taxi Meter, don’t take a ride on these so-called “wild cabs”.

If you are taking a ride outside Split (like Split airport, Trogir, Omis or Makarska), it is advisable to negotiate with a driver before the ride. You might get a better price!

If no fare is agreed before the start of the drive then the maximum fare will be that shown on the meter at the end of the ride.

Usually the starting price is 18 Kuna plus (Start price as on the image), 8 Kuna for each km. The baggage price is 2,5 Kuna per piece.

Split Taxi Transfer Prices

When talking about the prices of taxi services in Split, it is difficult to determine in advance how much you will pay, for example,  relation Airport – Center. All depends on your personal ability to negotiate.

Split taxi market is quite closed and unprepared for any improvements. All attempts for introduction of new private entrepreneurs who propose lower prices, like elimination of start price of € 18 Kuna and reduction of km price, has failed.

It’s hard to believe that even an attempt to introduce 50 ecological taxis has remained only an unfulfilled wish.

If you are looking for the most usual Split taxi transfer stands in the town, here are some most important points:

  • The main taxi stand in Split can be found along the waterfront – Riva (the same place from where the bus leaves to the airport) –
  • The second one, you can find them inside the Split ferry port, along the main bus and railway station.
  • The third one is situated on the opposite side of the waterfront (Riva), next to the Church of St.Frane (St.Francis).

The price of taxi transportation between the airport and the city center is about 40-50 euros. (including 3 persons).
