When looking for hotels in Split keep in mind that Split can not boast having enough hotels, particularly those five stars rating.

In recent years, Split is a witness of some new elegant and trendy hotels but it is not enough to satisfied its needs. Only thanks to new budget accommodation like private apartments, rooms and small hostels, Split keeps pace to evident visitors expansion.

When comparing Split with Dubrovnik, things are even worse as Dubrovnik has for example 18 five stars hotels and Split only one in close city area.

In 2009 an article has announced that Hotel Marjan will become a  part of Hilton Chain.

This hotel always was my favored hotel situated by the sea, at the foot of the Marjan hilly park, only 200 meters  from the town and Diocletian Palace.  It is the only hotel with unique panorama view to Split port.

It had to be five class hotel but it is still in renovating phase and nobody knows when will be completed.

Split 5 stars hotels

Whenever you search for hotels in Split, selecting five stars rating you will see that Split has only one five stars in the city area – Atrium hotel. This year a new 5 stars hotel Park will be opened. I hope will be before July 1st as it was announced.

The other two hotels are in Solin, 5 km from the city center Hotel President Solin and Le Meridien Lav, located in Podstrana, 8 km from city center.
